If cinema hall or multiplex owners want to release ‘Padmaavat’, the state police will provide them with security, assured the in-charge DGP of the state. He claimed that the Supreme Court order and directions will be kept in mind when it comes to the  Sanjay Leela Bhansali film.

In-charge Director General of Police  Pramod Kumar, while addressing the media persons, said that extra police forces have been deployed to control the prevailing situation. In the past 24 hours, 15 cases of arson, blocking traffic and damaging public property cases were registered across the state. Police will follow the course of law and take action against anyone who is trying to disturb the law and order in the state.

Though many organisations are openly threatening to take the law into their hands, the DGP has claimed that the state police has not received any complaint of threat. If the police receive any complaint, police will take action against those behind it.

Along with the regular police staff on duty, the department has deployed six extra IG/DIGs, 16 Deputy Superintendents of Police, 41 Inspectors, 237 Sub Inspectors,  eight  companies of SRP, two of RAF and 11,000 under-training constables to tackle the situation in case violence breaks out at any place pertaining to the Deepika-Ranveer starrer.

In all districts, state and national highways, police patrolling has been increased and even points are increased. Each patrolling team is accompanied by a videographer to shoot untoward incidents and so all can be identified and later be arrested for their role.

Police are in talks with protesters and cinema owners and will find a solution at the earliest.

The DGP also added that when the cinema owners have assured that they will not release the movie, there is no point in people protesting against it.

Padmaavat has been embroiled in controversy for sometime now.
