Teesta Setalvad & others made false claims against Narendra Modi

On the second day of hearing related to the complaint filed by Zakia Jafri, the lawyer for the Special Investigation Team (SIT) argued before a city court that chief minister Narendra Modi never said that ‘go and kill the people’.

RS Jamuar, lawyer for the Supreme Court-appointed SIT, was opposing the protest petition filed by Zakia, widow of former MP Ehsan Jafri, who was killed in the Gulbarg Society massacre during the 2002 communal riots. Jamuar has termed the complaint by Zakia and her supporter Teesta Setalvad as fiction or novel. It was concocted by four or five people, he added.

While tendering argument before metropolitan magistrate BJ Ganatra, he said, “Teesta Setalvad and others have falsified the complaint targeting chief minister who had never said that go and kill people.”

“Concerned Citizens Tribunal had released a report on 2002 communal riots, but information given in the report was provided by Teesta Setalvad though she never stayed here during the incident. There is all falsehood,” the cousel said.

Regarding the meeting presided over by Modi on February 27, 2002, the lawyer said, “The so-called incident of CM giving instructions (in the meeting) to high-level police officers not to take action against the rioters is a sole creation of Teesta Setalvad. There is no evidence.”
