A Class 9 student was found murdered with multiple stab wounds in a washroom of a school in Vadodara on Friday, a chilling reminder of the killing of a 7-year-old boy in Gurugram last year. Two students have emerged as suspects.

A student spotted the body of Dev Kishan Tadvi, 14, in the boys' loo on the first floor of Shree Bharti School and alerted the teachers, prompting the staff to call the police. Dev had been slashed at least 10 times, they said.

"A bag containing a sword and a bottle of water containing chilli powder was found near a temple adjoining the school. We suspect that the accused threw it from the school terrace after killing the teen," Said RS Bhagora, deputy commissioner of police.

Sources said Dev had got into a fight with a Class 10 student two days ago. "The bag recovered from the temple belongs to the 10th standard student, who is absconding," said Bhagora. The senior is suspected to have killed Dev.
Referring to CCTV footage, sources told DNA, the student apparently committed the crime, while one of his friends kept a watch outside the washroom on the first floor.
