Altogether three persons were injured after being hit by a speeding Audi near Naroda bus terminal around 8:30 pm on Monday. This was yet another case of accident by luxury cars.

The car first hit a pedestrian crossing the road and then rammed into two motorcycles after which both the bikers lost control and fell. They have sustained severe head injuries, police sources said. The driver of the vehicle was under the influence of alcohol and has been arrested. The three injured were rushed to a civil hospital, police said.  The car was allegedly being driven by one Vinod Soni, driver of Moti Prajapati, a builder of the area. The Audi was owned by Prajapati.

“Soni was drunk and not able to control the steering of the vehicle. The car would have hit more people had it not stopped after ramming into a parked bus at the Naroda bus stand,” M A Vala, the inspector of Naroda police station, told dna.

Vala said Soni was arrested immediately after the accident and experts from the forensic science laboratory were called to conduct his blood test.

Police have identified two of the injured — Ashwin Parmar and Dinesh Jhala — both residents of the Naroda area while the identity of the pedestrian, whose condition was believed to be serious, was not known till late in the evening.
