Tired of making rounds to police stations for any service or lodge a complaint? Not anymore. For the Gujarat government has launched an online portal on Wednesday which will provide 17 services related to police stations at a click.
All the police station services related to common citizens in Gujarat would no be available through this portal https://gujhome.gujarat.gov.in/portal. You would not have to visit a police station to register or track a complaint. Be it the task of police verification or getting a no objection certificate (NOC), or any other service, it would now be available online.
The Director General of Police (DGP) of Armed Unit in Gujarat Police, Pramod Kumar launched this portal from Gandhinagar.
Kumar said, "It is the part of the ambitious project, e-GujCop, launched by former CM Narendra Modi on September 19, 2013. The Home Department is trying to follow the direction of becoming a paperless department. We are committed to provide fast services to citizens through such projects."
He added, "Now, citizens will not be bothered to remain present at police station as the services would be available through the portal. They can avail the same by the help of internet at home. We hope that the entire nation will take the note of this project and it will be implemented in other states too."
The services available through portal also include tracking of missing persons, theft of goods or vehicles, registration of senior citizens for assistance of police, domestic help, drivers or tenants and others.
Police will also update information on this portal like arrest of the accused, wanted and unclaimed bodies recovered besides others.
