It calls itself a Smart Party and plans to do things the smart way.
So, instead of conventional methods like roping in volunteers to go door to door, the Smart Party will reach out to voters using social media. Explaining the party’s strategy, founder Abhishek Kumar said, “It is a political start-up. It will function like any other start-up. Our party will make maximum use of social media to reach out and spread the word about our policy and philosophy.”
He said it is a social experiment to bring revolution in the traditionally contested elections. The strategy will be worked out and the party’s committee will decide on how to go about using social media and whether they will hire any professional agency to leverage the platform. He said in remote areas, the party will work out some non-conventional digital mode to reach out. An architect by profession, he said he decided to join politics because he believes only activism does not he lp. “One has to be in power to bring about changes,” he quipped.
Abhishek is a graduate from the Arvind Patel Institute of Environmental Design, Vallabh Vidyanagar (2007 batch).
He has worked for various architectural firms.
He did his architecture studies from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden.
