The Global Patidar Business Organisation (GPBO), which aims to rope in 10,000 'leading' Patidar businessmen from India and world over, will be formally launched at an event in Ahmedabad on Saturday.

The announcement for establishing the organisation was made at the Patidar Business Summit held in Gandhinagar from January 5-7 earlier this year.

"Ten thousand top Patidar businessmen from Gujarat, India and several countries will be a part of the Global Patidar Business Organisation. GPBO will provide a platform where the businessmen can network, and learn about emerging opportunities. New entrepreneurs will be able to get guidance and training from established players," Gagji Sutariya, president of Sardardham Vishwa Patidar Kendra, an influential body comprising top Patidar community representatives, told reporters.

Organisers said they have invited 3,000 Patidar businessmen for the formal launch ceremony, which will take place at GU Convention Hall on Saturday evening. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel are also slated to launch GPBO's online networking portal and web application at the event.

Sutariya further said the organisation is being set up as a part of series of measures to achieve the aim to prepare new Patidar entrepreneurs, and to create employment opportunities for 10 lakh youth in the private sector by 2026. Sardardham had earlier announced that the Patidar Business Summit would be held every two years till 2026. It will alternate with the biennial Vibrant Gujarat Summit.
