Disgruntled minister in CM Vijay Rupani's cabinet Parsottam Solanki has cooled down after Rupani pacified him on Wednesday. The fisheries minister of state level in government, Solanki announced on Thursday, that he was convinced by talks with CM and was happy to join office. Later in the day, he joined his office and started the routine course.

The Solanki called on the chief minister Rupani at his residence on Wednesday evening. Solanki on Thursday said, "I was called by the chief minister on yesterday when my supporters were at my residence. The CM assured me that in next two months, there will be an expansion of the cabinet and I will be given important portfolio in that. I have conveyed this to my supporters and I can vouch for my community that they agree to wait for the due period."

"If the CM does not expand his cabinet in two months and I am not given a befitting portfolio, the BJP and government should be ready to face the consequences in Lok Sabha polls. I am going to join my office now," added Solanki. The minister then left for his office in the secretariat.

Solanki had turned dissident over the allocation of portfolios in the new BJP government in Gujarat and had skipped the state cabinet meeting held on Wednesday. Instead, of joining office, Solanki camped at his official residence in Gandhinagar with the supporters of his community leaders. His younger brother and former parliamentary secretary Hira Solanki had taken leadership of Koli community showing solidarity for Parsottam Solanki and put forward demand for good portfolios.

Surprisingly, Solanki was the minister of state for fisheries and animal husbandry in past government but hardly appeared in his office on health grounds. His attendance in assembly session also remained very rare in past years. Solanki also did not appear in the meeting of elected members of BJP called to elect the chief minister on December 22 at BJP office Shri Kamalam.
