The Admissions Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) on Monday declared the mock allotment list after which no pharmacy college in the state has vacant seats. This year, the beeline for pharmacy courses has left academicians surprised.

As per the data shared by ACPC, a total of 4,277 pharmacy seats have been filled against 11,311 registered candidates. Though a total of 11,234 candidates made it to the merit list, 9,550 participated in the process. The final merit list will be declared on July 12 and the process of admissions for round 1 will be till July 17. Results will be declared on July 20.

A statement issued by ACPC said, “As per the Pharmacy Council of India, since LM College of Pharmacy comes under ‘No admission zone’, no student will be given admission.”

Member secretary of ACPC, GP Vadodaria said, “There are two reasons for an increase in numbers. One is the number of students opting for Group B is higher this year and, secondly, job opportunities in the sector seem to be growing.”
