The weather in Ahmedabad will remain warm for the next two days, according to the local Met department. The temperature is expected to remain above normal with the mercury hovering around 35 degrees Celsius.

For the next two days, the city is expected to witness northeast and westerly winds, resulting in morning humidity. Maximum temperature is likely to be higher over Gujarat compared to Saurashtra, especially on Friday and Saturday. The Met department said the maximum temperature could go up to 37 degrees Celsius in the next two days. They have also predicted warm weather for the rest of the month.

On Thursday, the maximum temperature is likely to be around 35 degrees Celsius with clear skies. The minimum temperature is expected to remain around 17 degrees Celsius.

On Wednesday, maximum temperature in the city was 35 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal, while minimum temperature was 16.8 degrees Celsius. On the same day, maximum temperature was above 33 degrees Celsius across the state, with Idar recording the highest temperature at 36.6 degrees Celsius. The lowest minimum temperature of 15.2 degrees Celsius was recorded in Naliya.

The sudden rise in temperature has led to fears about conditions worsening in the summer months.

“This is just February and we are sweating, then what will happen in the summer months? This summer will be worst, I guess. To save ourselves from the scorching heat, we need to plant more trees,” said Pavan Vyas, resident of Khadia.
