Gujarat BJP chief Jitu Vaghani alleged that the first Prime Minister of India, Jawahar Lal Nehru, played politics on the death of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Vaghani, during a press conference on Wednesday at BJP headhquarter Shri Kamalam, charged Nehru and the Congress for injustice meted out to to Sardar Patel. Vaghani sought an answer from Rahul Gandhi.

"Nehru played dirty politics on Sardar Patel's death. He said that Patel should not be declared dead so that people could not gather.

When his body was taken for cremation in Mumbai, Nehru did not allow any Congress leader to attend his funeral and also called a cabinet meeting an hour before the cremation.

He even did not let the cabinet members pay homage to Sardar during that cabinet meeting," he said "Rahul Gandhi during his visit has been trying to create devide in communities in Gujarat and cash in on votes from the Patel community by referring to Sardar Patel.

First, he should answer why Patel had to face injustice throughout his life. Gandhi has no right to speak about Sardar Patel," Vaghani added.

Vaghani also said that Gandhi raised issues of atrocity on the Patel community, but he should know first that former CM of Gujarat Madhavsinh Solanki was responsible for violent anti-reservation agitation in Gujarat in past and many youth from upper castes had lost their lives.

Vaghani also criticised Gujarat Congress leaders that they were responsible for creating misunderstanding among the youth of Gujarat. Vaghani also alleged that Rahul Gandhi's rallies hardly gained any response from public in Gujarat as hardly 1,000 people turned up for his rallies.
