Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDI) has finally got the accreditation from National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for its Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Business Entrepreneurship (PGDMBE) program.
This was announced at a press conference on Monday by professor Sunil Shukla, chairperson of post graduate programmes from EDI.
“We applied for the accreditation of the program in 2012. An expert team from NBA then visited the institute in October last year. They interacted with faculties, students, course director, parents, employers and other members from staff for their assessment. The main parameters for evaluation were quality, governance, innovation, campus infrastructure, library and sustainability,” he elaborated.
“We finally got the accreditation with effect from September 18 and it will be valid for three years. At the end of this tenure, we will have to apply again,” Shukla added.
Rajiv Joshi, associate senior faculty at EDI, said, “There will 120 seats divided in two batches for Indian students and extra 18 for international, as approved by All India Council for technical Education (AICTE).”
“The students will have to clear one of the five MBA entrance exams and then appear for entrepreneur aptitude test conducted by our institute. And finally they will have to sit for a personal interview to be selected for this course,” he added.
Shukla concluded by saying that their institute has been selected as a finalist in the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) Excellence in Entrepreneurship Education Awards.
They have been chosen in the Outstanding Emerging Entrepreneurship Programme abroad category.
Meanwhile, the institute also announced a hike in the fee of the two-year course. It has been raised from Rs 7.20 lakh to Rs 8.40 lakh from 2014-16 batch onwards.
