Rape accused Narayan Sai’s aide Jamuna surrendered before the Surat police on Tuesday afternoon. She had been absconding for over 106 days — since October 6, 2013. Cops have started interrogating her. She will be produced in court on Wednesday.

Accompanied by her advocate, Jamuna reached the Surat police commissioner’s office in the afternoon and after meeting top officials she surrendered. The development not only surprised the police but also the followers of Sai, who is son of controversial godman Asaram Bapu. This is because police had announced a reward of Rs one lakh on Jamuna and despite several attempts the police had been unable to trace her. The police immediately arrested Jamuna and took her to the detection of crime branch (DCB) office at Chowk Bazaar for interrogation, which continued till late Tuesday evening.

Source said Jamuna was living with her brother at Mhow in Madhya Pradesh. To hide her identity she kept changing her appearance and dressing style.

Police believe that the statements of Sai’s most loyal and faithful aide, Jamuna, will provide vital information about the wrongdoings of the father-son duo. It is also alleged that she had threatened and even thrashed the rape victim.

It is also said that Jamuna was responsible for Sai’s break-up with his wife Janki.

Though she has surrendered police have no information about her so-called brother and her eight-year-old son Moksh.
