Weather likely to remain cold throughout the week, says the Weather Department. The weather will continue to remain cold in the city, with the mercury likely to drop during the rest of the week, said the Weather Department in a statement. The city recorded a minimum temperature of 13.8 degree Celsius. Various parts of the state have been receiving rains for the past two days. Kaprada in Valsad district reported rainfall on Tuesday. The cold weather intensified in Kutch district and parts of Saurashtra. Nalia in Kutch was the coolest recording 10 degree Celsius.

Other cities that recorded low temperatures include Deesa (12 degree Celsius), Gandhinagar (12.5 degree Celsius), Surendranagar (13 degree Celsius), Kandla Airport (14 degree Celsius), Mahuva (14.1 degree Celsius) and Rajkot (14.6 degree Celsius).

Western Saurashtra and Kutch, as well as Devbhoomi Dwarka, Jamnagar, Porbandar and Morbi received rainfall on Monday.

The Western Disturbance, as an upper air cyclonic circulation over north Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir persists. A north-south trough from north-west Rajasthan to Marathwada across western Madhya Pradesh also persists. A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan Region from January 25, said a statement from India Meteorological Department.
