Prime minister Narendra Modi's roadshow — held after casting his vote in Ranip — did not violate the model code of conduct, a senior official said.
"We had received a complaint about the roadshow from the Congress party. We sought a report from Ahmedabad district collector and have received it. It concludes that there was no violation of model code of conduct," state's CEO S Murali Krishna told reporters.
Krishna said that they had received 43 complaints during the day through social media, media and other means, of which 11 were from Ahmedabad, five each in Junagadh and Amreli, and three each in Amreli, Dahod and Jamnagar. He said that the complaints were attended to, and disposed of.
The CEO added that the elections were conducted in a peaceful manner without any major violence. There were also few complaints of voters' names missing from electoral rolls.
