Surat resident Vipul Mendarpara, who according to Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) is the key conspirator in preparing fake sex CDs, was associated with Patidar agitation leader Hardik Patel since a year.

A native of Bhttiya village of Bhavnagar, but settled in Surat for a few years, Vipul is missing for the past three days, the day the first of the sex CDs allegedly featuring Hardik Patel surfaced online.

Posts on Vipul's Facebook timeline contain a number of photos of Hardik. One of the posters describes Hardik as the game changer. There are several posts about various PAAS protests.

Vipul's father told Zee 24 Kalak that his son was associated with Hardik for the last year, and was connected with the Patidar reservation agitation. He, however, claimed that he did not know where his son used to go with Hardik.

Large crowds had gathered near Vipul's home in Surat as PAAS's allegation that he was involved in making of the sex tapes went viral. According to neighbours, Vipul was last seen at his home on Sunday. Policemen in plain clothes were also deployed at Vipul's home.

PAAS convener Dinesh Bambhania told media persons that Vipul had mounted huge debts, and was also facing several cheating cases. He claimed that large financial transactions had taken place between Vipul and Surat-based businessman Vimal Patel as a part of the Rs 40 crore deal to frame Hardik.

"We have evidence that large transactions happened through Navagam branch of Axis Bank. Vipul also bought jewellery worth Rs 60 lakh from a jewellery showroom in Surat, and clothes worth Rs 3 lakh. However, he is missing for three days, and has been hidden somewhere," the PAAS leader claimed.

Hardik too described Vipul as someone who enjoyed a lavish life, however declined to produce the evidence, saying they would do so at the right time. "Vipul needs to be found first," he said.

Bambhania also alleged that Vimal paid Rs 10 lakh to another PAAS convener Narendra Patel for joining the BJP.
