Architecture has emerged as one of the most preferred courses in the state, when compared to engineering, MBA, MCA and Planning. Details of admissions from the first round of Bachelors of Architecture released by the Admissions Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) on Wednesday revealed a positive number, with just 126 seats left vacant.

In comparison with the thousands of seats remaining vacant in various other courses across the state, the picture for Architecture was different this year. While nearly 75 MBA/MCA colleges failed to get students, none of the architecture colleges got zero students.

Among the 33 institutes that offer the programme, 28 institutes got all their seats filled, 2 institutes saw more than 50 per cent seats being filled whereas three institutes failed to fill more than half of the available seats. Of the total 1,640 seats across the state, admissions done through ACPC was to be done in 1,327 seats, of which ACPC allotted 1201 seats, while the rest 126 remained vacant.

However, nearly 284 students did not get seats in their desired courses.
