The team raided several places during its eight-hour-long search operation.
After acquiring four-day police custody of sitting BJP MP Dinu Bogha Solanki, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials took him to his hometown — Kodinar in Junagadh district — to investigate his alleged role in the murder of RTI activist Amit Jethava.
Sources revealed that CBI officials reached Kodinar at around 10 am on Friday with Solanki and visited several places with the help of the local police. The entire operation lasted for eight hours.
The investigating agency also acquired details of all the registered and pending cases against Solanki and his associates.
The CBI team along with some local police officials reached Solanki’s farmhouse in Harmadia village in the Gir area. According to sources, whole convoy of the CBI and local police included 12 officials and 5 vehicles. During the operation, CBI officials acquired necessary details about several businesses run by the MP and made different teams to conduct search operations at those places.
One of the teams went to Solanki’s business establishments based at Shivalay complex in Kodinar. The team searched for crucial evidences at Rajmoti transport and Rajmoti cable network located in the complex. While searching for evidences, it is learnt that officials also questioned Solanki’s brother and personal assistant.
A team also visited Solanki’s bungalow ‘Mangadh’ and his allotted office as an MP in Kodinar. Officials also made a surprise check at Rajmoti transport office at the Ambuja Cement factory.
During their day-long investigation in and around Kodinar, it is learnt that CBI acquired crucial documents and information about Solanki. At around 6 pm, the teams came back to Solanki’s farmhouse — where he was questioned till late night by senior CBI officials.
Earlier, investigations revealed that the conspiracy to kill Jethava with the help of a contract killer was hatched in a hotel on the Una–Ahmedpur Mandvi Road. To explore the angle further, the CBI raided several hotels in Diu, Ahmedpur Mandvi and other adjoining places.
