Arun Jaitley, a Rajya Sabha MP and an established lawyer, is trying to derail the ongoing CBI probe into the encounter cases of Gujarat. This is indeed shocking and shameless, said lawyer Mukul Sinha.

Sinha, representing Jansangharsh Manch (JSM), an NGO, has written a letter to the Prime Minister of India on behalf of the fake encounter victims.

The letter was sent in response to Jaitley’s recent submission to the PM after suspended IPS officer DG Vanzara shot off a letter to the state government early last month.

In a lette to the PM, the relatives of the victims also demanded that Jaitley’s representation be rejected and directed the CBI not to be deterred or inhibited by such ulterior political interference which has been given wide publicity in the public domain.

On behalf of the relatives of the victims killed in fake encounters by the state police in collusion with the Gujarat government, Sinha, who appeared on behalf of Rubabuddin Sheikh, brother of Sohrabuddin Sheikh, Narmada Prajapati, mother of Tulsi Prajapati, and Gopinath Pillai, father of Pranesh Pillai alias Javed Sheikh, drew the attention of the PM to the true facts to counter the absolutely false and frivolous allegations made by Jaitley.

Sinha further stated in the letter that earlier the high court had acquitted all the accused prosecuted by the CBI in the Haren Pandya case and therefore, the most important question has arisen as to who killed Pandya. The allegation that fresh efforts were being made to politicise the case appears to be a part of the fear psychosis of the BJP establishment that a re-investigation of the Pandya case would open up a huge can of worms and that is worrying Jaitley.

The senior BJP leader alleged in his representation that under the investigation of the encounter cases, CBI, acting at the behest of the Congress, was now trying to target Narendra Modi, other ministers and police officials of the state in connection with the encounter.

On behalf of the relatives of the victims, Sinha sincerely urged the PM to give them justice.
