BJP national president Amit Shah gave a touching speech, infusing momentum and enthusiasm, to the BJP cadre in Gujarat at a rally for Prime Minister Narendra Modi held in Bhat village near Ahmedabad on Sunday. With hands folded, the BJP leader appealed to the workers and asked them to make their party win in the state with a 3/4 majority in the upcoming assembly polls.

Shah, who started speaking in a calm and composed voice, said, "When Narendrabhai was the CM in Gujarat, BJP always won with more than 2/3 majority. Now, he is the PM and so the BJP must win with 3/4 majority. This is my request with folded hands to all voters in Gujarat. These are not the ordinary polls. This is the time to uproot Congress from their base in Gujarat."

He also took a potshot at Congress and said, "Congress in entire India is seen at the time of elections and they start spreading myth everywhere and then disappear. In Gujarat also, when over one crore workers of BJP would foray into the battlefield of polls, these enemies of development will not appear. They are making fun of development because they are anti-development. They dream to shake legs of BJP in Gujarat. But, I would say that BJP has leg of Angad(character of Ramayana) that is immovable."

"They are speaking a lot these days, but on the day of the counting of votes in Gujarat, it would be difficult to spot them anywhere in state after 12 in the noon.."

In his speech, Shah also attacked Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi. He said, "Rahul Gandhi is frequently visiting Gujarat because the polls are coming. He is raising questions about development in Gujarat, but why was there no collector office in Amethi for seventy years when their three generations contested polls from there. Gujaratis love development and when you are making fun of development and the people, they will take revenge in these polls."

At the venue, a famous Gujarati song, "Mehndi te Vavi Malve ne eno rang gayo Gujarat re, Mehndi rang lagyo" was converted into a song praising Modi's contribution to the state. The lyrics of the modified song were, "Modi Gaya re Delhi ne eno Faydo thayo Gujarat ne, Modi Rang Lagyo", meaning, Modi went to Delhi and Gujarat received benefits, Gujarat is showered with his colours."
