It would be brainstorming at its best. Post Graduate Program for Executive (PGPX) students at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) will get some respite from their hectic academic schedule. Not because of Diwali, but because it is that time of the year when the best of business brains would descend on this premier B school to talk about the latest business trend at ConneXions-2013, an annual IIMA event.
ConneXions-2013 — the fourth edition of ConneXion — will kick-start on Friday. Dean Ajay Pandey will inaugurate the two-day event and KC Chakrabarty, deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of India, will deliver the keynote address.
The theme of ConneXions-2013 is Indian InCubate: Idea to Action with the focus being on ideas, business, skills and action plans for growth in the changing global economic environment.
“Though the current economic flux poses a challenge to business worldwide, it is also an opportunity for Indian enterprise to carve out a global position for themselves. This requires the support of focused policy initiatives, business processes of international standard and a global mindset,” said a PGPX student, who is also part of the organising committee.
The list of other speakers includes Federal Bank CEO Shyam Srinivasan, member of Parliament Suresh Prabhu, FITCH India Ratings chief economist Devendra Pant and MCX chief economist Nilanjan Ghosh to mention a few. A total of 30 speakers, entrepreneurs, analysts and economists will interact with the students at the event.
The event will also have four panel discussions and each session would culminate with a Q&A from the audience. A PGPX alumni meet would also be hosted on the campus alongside ConneXion.
Besides, a panel discussion among CEOs, leaders of industry, an MLA and PGPX alumni will be moderated by IIMA faculty Piyush Sinha is the faculty adviser of the event.
The event will also have four panel discussions besides an alumni meet.
