The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, (IIMA) presented the third IIMA Young Alumni Achievers awards to seven of its alumni under the age of 45 on Thursday.
The awards were to recognise their achievements in three sectors, namely public service, corporate life and entrepreneurship.
IIMA director Ashish Nanda said, “IIMA is recognising the contributions of seven of our young alumni, who have demonstrated leadership in a range of fields. We consider them as representing numerous other alumni who are contributing as leaders and change agents in their organisations and communities.”
The alumni interacted with the new batch as well.
Tulsi Naidu, CEO, Zurich Insurance Company and alumna of 1996 batch, said, “I was 19 when I joined IIMA and it felt like a great achievement then. Looking back, I realise I didn’t appreciate how those years were going to shape my life.”
Rahul Agarwal, a 1996 batch student and currently MD & CEO of Lenovo India, said, “IIMA instilled in me a sense of competitiveness, an appreciation for rigour and clear thinking and a habit of hard work and detailing. While there is a lot you learn on the job, especially about people management, execution and being pragmatic, the foundation we laid there has been instrumental in my entire career. I feel humbled to have received this award.”
