In a heroic act, an RPF jawan saved the life of a 50-year-old woman who was trying to catch a running train on Platform 1 of Maninagar Railway Station on Friday. The woman's feet got sucked into the gap between the train and the platform. The woman has sustained minor leg and back injuries.

The attempt of 45-year-old sub-inspector Sanjay Bawne immediately drew applauds from all corners.

The woman was travelling on Somnath Express. She had got off to buy something from a stall. However, she rushed when the train began to leave the platform at around 8.30 am. Speaking to Sanjay Bawne, DNA found, "The woman got out to get something from the stalls when the train stopped at Maninagar station. She rushed and tried to board it after it started moving. She slipped and her legs got stuck in the narrow space between the footboard and the platform. I rushed the moment I saw it. She has sustained minor injuries and is being treated by doctors at the station itself."
