Gujarat University postpones dental exam for Eid

Gujarat University has postponed the dental practical examination date due to Eid. The practicals of the dental exam were to be held on June 16 but due to the festivity and taking Muslim students into consideration, the university on Thursday decided to postpone the exam by few days.

The National Students Union of India (NSUI) on Thursday met the registrar of GU and gave a representation seeking a change of examination date.

In their letter, they stated: Eid depends on the moon and hence it is unclear whether Eid will be on June 15 or June 16. Both days, there are exams at the university.

Hence, keeping the Muslim staff and students in mind, we request you to change the dates of exams.

Speaking about the same, Himanshu Pandya, Vice-chancellor, Gujarat University said, "We have shifted the date of June 16 practical exam to the last date of examination. Every year, during the festival, we shift dates but since the date of Eid was uncertain, we could not do it earlier."
