Gujarat University incubatees to be groomed in Silicon Valley

The move is a part of Rajeev Motwani Fellowship, which gives local startups to the current trends in Silicon Valley.

Four incubatees of start-up incubator of Gujarat University will be groomed in Silicon Valley for three weeks, where they will visit offices of likes of Google, Facebook, Tesla and Paypal. They will pitch to the investors and seek a feedback on their startup ideas. The move is a part of Rajeev Motwani Fellowship, which gives local startups to the current trends in Silicon Valley.

The fellows include Rishabh Agnihotri, founder of iecon, an automated payment solution based on beacons; Smit Bhanushali, founder of Circuitgyan; Nandan Shah, founder of Alteration Innotech, which has filed a patent for smart access system; and Aditya Bhatt, founder of AMB Industries, which is producing energy from ionosphere. They are a part of 17 promising start-up founders from Indian sub-continent selected for the fellowship, in memory of late Rajeev Motwani, who was mentor to Larry Page and Sergei Brin and their first investors.

All the start-up founders are incubatees of Gujarat University Student Entrepreneurship Council (GUSEC) and will be groomed for about three weeks in Silicon Valley. “This is a rare opportunity for them. They will visit the head quarters of companies like Google, Facebook, Tesla and Paypal. They will make a pitch to the investors and they will also get a feedback on their start-up ideas,” said Rahul Bhagchandani, CEO of GUSEC.

Asha Jadeja, wife of Rajeev Motwani is running the fellowship and is also a prolific investor in startups that have disrupting ideas. She may also invest in these startups.

Rishabh will also participate in Facebook’s two-day F8 Annual Development Conference to be held in San Jose in California beginning May 1. He is also the head of Facebook’s Developers Community in Ahmedabad. He is among 90-odd Facebook Developers from across the globe to participate in the annual event that will showcase Facebook’s new offerings to the world. Aditya will also participate in Google’s annual I/O event on May 5. The event will also reveal Google’s upcoming offerings.
