The Gujarat Technological University (GTU) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Gujarat Urban Development Mission (GUDM) on Wednesday.
According to the MoU, the tech university will provide consulting for engineering capacity building and human resource development through training and development of affordable housing mission (AHM) in the state.
The MoU was signed by in-charge registrar GP Vadodaria and project specialist of affordable housing at GUDM Hasmukh Vala in the presence of GTU VC Akshai Aggarwal. According to details given by the varsity, research and consulting service of the GTU will provide the consultancy services.
“In the consulting work, the GTU will provide all kind of assistance to GUDM. The varsity has a pool of qualified civil engineering faculties apart from architecture expertise. They will help GUDM with recruitment, in detailing the tendering process, conduct any kind of study, provide laboratory to conduct tests, designing training module etc to mention a few,” said Vadodaria.
The note from the varsity further stated that the GTU would also produce the detailed project report for AHM and provide consultation for various aspects like structural design, conventional and alternative construction technology, quality assurance, etc.
The GTU will immediately start work on capacity building through massive recruitment for the Gujarat Housing Board to take AHM forward.
