Gujarat: Medical student accuses prof of molestation

A 24-year-old medical student from the Sola Civil Hospital has filed a complaint against a doctor from the same hospital for sexual harassment and molestation. According to the complaint filed by the student, who is in the ninth semester, the doctor identified one Pankaj Upholkar accused of touching the student, while they were in the lift of the Outpatient Department of the hospital.

The complaint states that the doctor and the student were alone in the lift when the doctor took undue advantage of the situation and touched the student's body, including her chest. Police inspector, JS Patel said no arrests have been made so far and investigation is underway.

In another case, a student of the BJ Medical college has filed a complaint of rape against her Facebook friend. In a complaint with Shahibaugh police station, the girl stated that she befriended a Dhruvit Patel on Facebook, who forcefully took her to a hotel in 2015 and raped her and further threatened to post her nude pictures.
