The complaint was lodged by victim Vimal Patel, a businessman and resident of Vastrapur area. He stated in his complaint that in 2018, he had gone to his sister's house in Uttar Pradesh. At that time, Patel was facing a financial crisis and was trying to find opportunities abroad.
