Gujarat: Man held for posting photos of random girls

A local YouTuber was arrested on Tuesday by the cyber cell police for posting random girls' photos on his Instagram page and tagging the photos with inappropriate site links. During interrogation by the police, it was revealed that the accused did the whole thing because wanted to increase the number of followers for his YouTube channel.

The accused has been identified as Hitesh Babubhai Bhimani, a resident of Nikol who runs a YouTube channel. According to the police, on January 12, a complaint was lodged by a girl with the cyber cell after her photo was posted on an Instagram account by an unidentified person and tagged with inappropriate site links.

Regarding the matter, the cyber cell police lodged a complaint under IT act 66 (C) and 67 and started an investigation. During the investigation of the technical team of the cyber cell, it was revealed that the accused Bhimani ran four fake Instagram accounts and was taking photos of random girls from Instagram and posting them on the fake accounts.

On Tuesday, the accused was arrested from his house. When questioned by the police, he said that posting girls' photos on the Instagram accounts attracted followers. He would share the link to his YouTube channel in the comments section to get more people to subscribe to it.
