The pacifier for sulking Patel community over the issue of reservation, Mukhya Mantri Yuva Swavlamban Yojana (MYSY) by former chief minister Anandiben Patel, hardly saw significant implementation after the announcement.

The education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama asserted on the floor of Gujarat assembly that government spent Rs. 300 crore after the scheme as on the date, while former CM Patel had announced the package of Rs. 1000 crore in the initial year and claim was made by her government that maximum implementation of grants was made.

The issue came on fore when the senior Congress MLA Gyasuddin Shaikh asked the question to education minister during question hour that how much grants were spent after MYSY in last two year and replying to the same the education minister replied that Rs. 300 crore were spent.

Gyasuddin Shaikh raised this issue again during debate on budgetary demands that Gujarat government was not keen on spending funds for the development of different communities or class which was deprived and economically backward class also faced the same in the case of MYSY.

The question he asked, taking a cue from the question of Congress MLA from Thasra Kantibhai Sodha Parmar had asked the question on increase of fees in the curriculum of engineering and higher technical studies in state and reasons for that. The government replied that increase of Rs 500 to Rs. 39,000 was made in different curriculums as per the recommendation by fees revision committee and that was the effect of the inflation.

The government also replied that the assistance was provided to students from the economically weak background.
