Gujarat elections 2017: PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi to head back to Gujarat today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will be back in the state on Wednesday and address political rallies at different places ahead of the upcoming elections.

The BJP said that Modi will address four rallies during the day, including three in Saurashtra and one in south Gujarat, which go to polls in the first phase, covering 25 Assembly segments.

Modi will address rallies in Morbi, Prachi (Somnath), Palitana and Navsari during the day, BJP said in a release. He had addressed as many rallies on Monday too.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will arrive on a two-day visit on Wednesday, in what will be his eighth visit to the state in the past few months. He is slated to hold a roadshow from Somnath to Talala, Talala to Visavadar, Visavadar to Dhari, Dhari to Savarkundla and Savarkundla to Amreli, covering about 200 km. He is slated to address various roadside meetings and a meeting in Patel heartland, which will witness polls on December 9, from where his party is eyeing a rich haul.

On the second day of his visit, Gandhi will cover Amreli, Lathi, Dhasa, Gadhada, Botad, Barvala, Vallabhipur and Bhavnagar, another stretch that has a huge Patidar population.
