The Gujarat Jan Adhikar Manch, which was in talks with the Congress over extending support to it in the upcoming elections, announced candidates from 11 constituencies on Sunday. It came after talks between the two sides fell through.

The outfit, which has been taking up the cudgels on issues concerning unemployed youths, farmers, fixed pay employees, Asha workers, and others, announced that its leader Pravin Ram would contest the Assembly polls from two seats – Gandhinagar North and Keshod.

The Gandhinagar North seat will go to polls in the second phase on December 14, and Keshod in the first phase on December 9.

Pravin Ram is seen by many as an emerging young leader in the state, and is believed to have good following among youths.

The outfit announced candidates from three seats in Ahmedabad city, which will go to polls in the second phase. It has fielded Hitesh Gupta from Amraiwadi, Ashwin Patel from Nikol, and Vasantbhai from Thakkarbapanagar.

Arvind Patel, former convener of Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS), has been nominated from Morbi constituency. Its other candidates are Pravin Nakum from Talaja, Raju Ahir from Gariadhar, Bhavesh Vala from Una, and Ronak Todarmal from Porbandar. These seats will go to polls on December 9.
