Gujarat: Case filed against four who raped girl in Satellite

The Satellite police has registered a case against four men who raped a 22-year-old girl and later blackmailed her with a recorded footage of the incident for money and sexual favours. Two women were also named in the case.

The incident took place in March. The girl, a resident of Ghodasar, was attacked when she had gone to Nehrunagar in Satellite for some personal work. She said that while she was standing on the road, the four accused came in a Scorpio car, stopped in front of her, and pulled her into the car before driving away. They then raped her, filmed the whole incident, and even inserted a wooden object inside her private part. They also stole her cellphone and wallet.

They then dropped her back at the spot from where they kidnapped her and warned her not to breathe a word or else they would harm her boyfriend and his sisters. She said one of the men was called Vrushab. She said she got the name from their conversations in the car.

She said that after the incident she started getting private messages from an Instagram handle asking her to meet at a hotel and demanding Rs 50,000 from her. She said she once even dropped a black plastic bag with Rs 3,500 and a gold ring near the circle close to Jaldhara park as part of the payment. "I waited to see who would come to pick it up, but no one came and so I left," the girl said.

She said that a few days later, she was stopped by four people (two men and two women ) on bikes near Satyam tower in Maninagar, who threatened her about revealing the rape videos. They returned her cellphone and wallet but allegedly injected her with something on her hand. She said one of the women looked familiar but she was not sure as they all had their faces covered.
