Gujarat ATS sleuths seize 5kg Crystal Meth worth Rs 24 crore

On Monday a team of Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) seized 5 kg of Methamphetamine drug also known as ICE, Crystal Meth worth Rs 24 crore from a house in Paharganj area of Delhi. As per officials, they got the information during the interrogation of two accused who were arrested in the 100 kg heroin case.

On Saturday the two accused identified as Mohammad Abdul Salaam Kunni, a resident of Kasargod in Kerala and Niyamat Khan Ahmedzai, a resident of Logar province in Afghanistan were arrested in relation to the 100 kg heroin seized from a boat off the Porbandar coast on March 27, 2019.

The two accused were produced in court and were remanded for 10-days. During interrogation, it was revealed that the accused had received and delivered various consignments of narcotics and psychotropic substance on the instruction of Haji Nadar, a resident of Afghanistan and member of Afghan drug mafia.

Niyamat Khan revealed that in the month of March 2019, 10 kg Methamphetamine drug consignment landed at Kutch coast by a Pakistani boat. The consignment was then received by Razi from Kutch coast and was later handover to Khan.

After which Haji Nadar instructed him to hand over the consignment to Abdul Salaam. As per senior ATS officers, Abdul Salaam revealed that 5 kg of Crystal Meth was kept at his house in Delhi. After which a team was sent to spot and Rs 24 crore worth Crystal Meth was recovered from his house.

During further interrogation, it was revealed that Abdul Salaam had received a total of 10 kg of Crystal Meth, out of which he had already dispatched 5 kg of Crystal Meth in smaller consignment to Saudi Arabia using passengers in various flights as couriers. As per officials, the Abdul Salaam who is native of Kerala took drug consignments to Kerala and Tamil Naidu, and it was then smuggled to Saudi Arabia.

The investigation also revealed that the accused was using suitcase which had hidden compartments to smuggle the drugs from one place to another. The accused were involved in smuggling different types of the drugs inside India on the direction of Haji Nadar and used India as a transit route to smuggle to the drug to Gulf country.
