Former leader of opposition Badruddin Shaikh has made allegations against the dean of AMC MET (Medical Education Trust) College for selling dead bodies to multinational companies and demanded a judicial inquiry into the matter. The RTI was filed by Yogesh Mishra in 2016.

"It's been two years that we are seeking suspension of dead Dr Pankaj Patel over giving dead bodies to multinational companies for research and in return getting the favour of a foreign trip. Why there is no investigation against him by a retired judge of the court. Recently, prime minister Narendra Modi had commented how pharma companies are bribing Indian doctors," said Shaikh.

"The bodies were donated for the study purpose of medical students of the MET college, but for the personal gain, Dr Patel has given those to private companies. The RTI revealed that how swiftly the bodies were given to companies and in return Dr Patel visited foreign country 14 times in two years. This isn't coincident?," remarked Shaikh.

According to medical council of India if a doctor takes gift of amount of Rs5,000 then license of the doctor suspended for three months and if the gift amount is Rs1000 then license suspended for 6 months, mentioned Shaikh.
