After ending his 19-day-long fast, Patel quota stir leader Hardik Patel warned that his fight for reservation for Patidars and farm loan waivers would continue and be intensified in the coming days.

"There is no question of whether I have won or lost. This fight is for the people. Our demands have not been fulfilled, and the fight will continue. I will go to 12,000 villages and mobilise people's support for a lok kranti (people's revolution)," he told reporters after calling off his fast.

He justified calling off the fast without having any of the demands fulfilled saying it was done keeping the community elders' sentiments in mind.

Coming down heavily on the state government, the 25-year-old said his agitation showed the government was not concerned about citizens.

"The government has shown that it is not serious or sensitive to the issues faced by Patidars and farmers. It has also proved that life or death of people like me will make no do difference to it," he said.

Hardik also said that reservation should be given not just to Patidars, but to all poor.

"I am not saying give reservation to Patidars… give reservation to all the poor. (Prakash Ambedkar), the grandson of the architect of the Constitution and Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar told me yesterday that Patidars can be given Constitutional reservation. He told me it can be given to all communities that are poor and are deprived of their rights," Hardik said.

Hardik reiterated that his fight was not for people who lived in bungalows and owned luxury cars, but for the poor who cannot afford to pay for their children's education.
