It’s been just a few months since Minesh Shah was re-appointed as the chief accounts officer at Gujarat University (GU). However, his appointment has once again created trouble for the authorities at the varsity. For, the state education department had recently written to the acting vice chancellor (V-C) of GU, Dr Mukul Shah, asking him to explain the reason behind the re-appointment.

It should be noted that earlier, Minesh was removed by the former V-C Dr Adesh Pal following instructions from the state government as he did not have the educational criteria demanded by the varsity at the time of posting. The complaint against Minesh was filed by Pradip Prajapati.

However, after Pal’s exit, Minesh was taken back on the post by the executive council (EC) at GU in September considering his qualification more than required.

“He is a chartered accountant (CA) and the education required was Master of Commerce. What could be the problem if he has a higher qualification? We have received the letter from the state education department which asked us the reason why Shah was taken back. We have sent minutes of the syndicate meeting to the department,” said Mukul Shah.
