The city has been gifted with a few interesting projects just before Diwali. For, the standing committee of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has approved some interesting proposals during a meeting held on Wednesday.
In order to speed up the process on its website, the civic body has approved the e-governance project that would be carried out at a cost of Rs35.49 crore by Tata Consultancy Service (TCS).
AMC also approved to carry out Intelligent Transport System (ITS) on pilot project.
It should be noted that the e-governance project, which comes under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JnNURM), was kept on hold by the standing committee for better understanding. However, now with the approval of this project, various services like software of civic centres, server, network, management, hardware and software will be integrated into one.
Similarly, the committee meeting also approved of carrying out the trial of ITS, wherein a Japanese company will install LED screens on the road from Vasna APMC market to Shivranjani crossroads. The screens would display information about the traffic flow to help commuters know if the road ahead is congested or free for driving.
However, the committee meeting has decided to hike the rent and deposit amount of Navdeep community hall in Naranpura. Elaborating on it, standing committee chairman, Bhupendra Patel said: “The rent has been hiked from Rs10,000 to Rs20,000 and the deposit amount has been hiked from Rs4,000 to Rs8,000.”
Meanwhile, the committee has also approved the proposal to have an auditorium in new west zone, RCC road for Gyaspur landfill site and working women’s hostel in Ghodasar.
