Dileep Sanghani is new GUJCOMASOL chairman

Dileep Sanghani, former state minister, was unanimously elected the chairman of Gujarat State Cooperative Marketing Federation Ltd (GUJCOMASOL), while Talala MLA Govind Parmar was named vice-chairman. 

The naming of Sanghani to the top post was not without drama. Sitting MP Vitthal Radadia had also expressed the desire to take up the post. Matters began to appear serious when, till Sunday night, both the aspirants tried to show that they had the support of maximum directors. 

However, when elections seemed inevitable, chief minister Vijay Rupani intervened and brought the situation under control. At the meeting on Sunday noon, deputy collector Gaurav Prajapati announced Sanghani the unopposed chairman of GUJCOMASOL. He will hold the post for five years. 

With this, BJP has officially taken over the body that had remained under Congress rule for 47 years. Of the total 31 seats for which elections were held, the saffron party won 28 seats and Congress managed to get three seats. As many as 23 seats remained uncontested, of which two went to Congress.
