Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India campaign has not reached the chief minister’s office, it seems from a reply given in Right to Information (RTI). Minority Coordination Committee convener, Mujahid Nafees had filed an application on May 10, 2018, with questions related to Chief Minister Vijay Rupani’s official email address and authorised mobile number.
The chief minister’s office replied that they don’t have an email id for the chief minister or any mobile number. “Reply to the RTI says, our chief minister has no official email id. This is shocking and strange. The chief minister is not taking the schemes and programmes of the Prime Minister seriously. PM focuses on digital India while CM doesn’t consider it. Is this Gujarat model?,” said Nafees.
Nafees asked this question to CM’s office because his attempt to meet him in the last one year failed.
“I have attempted several times by taking appointments but never got any in last one year. I thought of sending him an email, and for that I inquired of his email id. After not receiving a satisfactory answer from officials, I filed an RTI,” Nafees further said.
In the RTI Nafees also asked for a list of people who are meeting the CM. Shockingly, there was no list with the CMO for that either. The office doesn’t have any log on how much amount has been spent after refreshments!
“How come the CMO doesn’t have a list of announcements made by him. He made so many announcements in the last few months which I was keen to know. And there is no committee made so far to implement said announcements,” said the convener.
If there is no mechanism with CMO on how to implement chief minister’s announcements then how can they solve problems of 6.5 crore people, Nafees further added.
