The Gujarat High Court in one of its recent judgement has upheld that there was no error in the conclusion of the trial court in convicting the accused, in the case of a man attempting to kill his son. The trial court decision in ten years sentence is to uphold.
Single bench Justice MR Shah in recent judgement has concluded prosecution has beyond doubt established that the appellant convict Bachubhai Bhil had poured kerosene on his son Rakesh, who had suffered burns right from the head till neck. This is possible only in the case when someone pours inflammable on the head of a person. Hence the appellant convict is guilty and the sentence awarded by the trial court is upheld.
In 2011, due to family dispute Bachubhai had poured kerosene on his son Rakesh and tried to set him on fire. Rakesh had sustained serious injuries. He was hospitalized first at the Community Health Center Una and later at Junagadh. The UNA police had arrested Bhachubhai 10 days after the incident occurred and after collecting evidence and medical reports.
