Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani returned from his six days Israel visit on Monday afternoon. The CM returned with several important gifts for the state which included MoUs of innovative technology and digital farming units.

The CM visited the National Start-up Center in Israel on the last day of his visit that was on Sunday and signed three important MOUs here.

The MoUs were signed between different Israeli start-ups and the start-up incubation center in Gujarat ICreate. Aqwise Limited's CEO, Elad Frenkel signed an MOU with I-create for biofilm technology sharing to increase the quotient of purification of water in the treatment plant and enhance the process speed of sewerage water treatment plant. Rupani also visited the Sorek desalination plant in Israel. "We wish to develop the technology of water desalination in Gujarat with the partnership of Israel so that the water scarcity in Gujarat can be solved forever. We can use the same technology that Sorek has been using and can increase the capacity of desalination plant that will take shape in Gujarat," he said.

Sorek has developed a desalination plant at the distance of 15km from Tel aviv in 2013 at the expense of $400 million which has the capacity to filter 660 million liter water per day(MLD).

The CM also visited Diamond Bourse of Israel in Tel Aviv and met representatives of diamond business. He observed that many of the Gujarati businessmen have settled there for the diamond trade. Rupani said the diamond bourse in Israel could establish a partnership with the bourse to take shape in Surat.
