The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation is all geared up to celebrate the World Heritage Week from November 19, the first after it was declared as the first World Heritage City of India by the UNESCO on July 8, while ensuring that it does not violates the model code of conduct.

It has planned a series of lectures, music and dance events, play and panel discussions from November 19 to November 25.

For most of the events, educational institutes and experts have been roped in. A heritage exhibition would be held at Sabarmati Riverfront on the concluding day. The list of events also include the Gujarati Film Festival and lectures on medieval architecture, Jain and Parsi Communities. Surprisingly, heritage week gave a miss to seminar or lecture on the Muslim community, which is a significant part of the city which was founded by Ahmed Shah.

A mobile application on Heritage City Ahmedabad would be launched this week. Interestingly, the application is already available on the Playstore!
