Board exams: Ahmedabad reports first copying case, 37 in Gujarat

Of the 38 students, 30 students of Class 10 were caught copying during Science and Technology exams whereas 8 students of class 12 were caught copying during Statistics and Chemistry exam

The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) on Wednesday registered 38 cases of coping with a maximum number of class 10 students being involved.

Of the 38 students, 30 students of Class 10 were caught copying during Science and Technology exams whereas 8 students of class 12 were caught copying during Statistics and Chemistry exam.

Interestingly, of all the copying cases, Ahmedabad registered the first case of copying where a class 10 student was caught with a cellphone while appearing for his exam at Sadhu Vaswani school in Sardarnagar.

The District Education Office immediately filed a police complaint against the student. Of 1021611 students who had registered for Science and Technology paper for class 10, 100120 students had appeared whereas of 196152 students of class 12 registered for Statistics, 193630 had appeared and of 133675 students registered for Chemistry, 133328 had appeared.

Class X Science paper leng-thy, but easy: Students

A student of Doon Blossom school at New CG road, Dishank Bhatiya found the paper easy but lengthy. Speaking about the paper, he said, “To my surprise, the paper was very easy. All the questions asked were from the syllabus and nothing was out of the book or twisted. However, the paper was quite lengthy but I could finish on time.”

For Nishant Patel, a student of Terf English medium school in Naranpura, Science and Technology paper was an average.  He said, “The paper was not so easy and not so tough. All questions asked were as per weight of the chapter. I did not find the paper lengthy.”

Raghav Shah, another student whose centre was Terf English medium school in Naranpura found the paper very lengthy. While he admitted that all questions were asked from the textbook, he, however, had to maintain his speed in writing.
