Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leader Hardik Patel once again reiterated that the state BJP had offered crores of rupees to several Patel leaders to not only break the agitation but also defame the young leader.

Hardik’s allegations came after a video went viral in which one Mansukh Patel is seen having discussions with several PAAS leaders. In the video, Mansukh Patel is seen talking about ‘someone’s efforts to offer ‘something’ to the PAAS leaders. It should be noted that nowhere in the video is the word BJP mentioned nor does it make a mention of any money. But, the overall talk in the video indicates ‘giving something’ to someone.

It should be noted that Mansukh Patel was once the main mediator between PAAS and the government. It is believed that he was instrumental in gathering the finance required to hold the mega Patel sabha at GMDC ground which ended in violence.

Following the release of the video, Hardik Patel in a video statement said it as proof that the government had offered money to several PAAS leaders to break the agitation and to defame him. Hardik also gave out a list of businessmen and BJP leaders who were tasked with the duty of offering the money. He gave out a list of several PAAS leaders along with the amount that they accepted in return for breaking away from the agitation.

“People who sell their soul for money without any consideration for the cause of the community should be kept afar,” Hardik said following the release of the video.

In his video, Hardik accused Surat businessmen Batuk Movaliya, Mukesh Kheni and Vimal Patel apart from Mansukh Patel (whom he called as the one close to deputy CM Nitin Patel), Jayaram Vansjadiya (Chairman of Sidhsar Umiya Dham) and CK Patel (Chairman Vishwa Umiya Dham) of being tasked with the job of arranging for funds to bribe PAAS leaders.

The young Patel leader also gave out the rates at which 10 PAAS leaders agreed to break away from the agitation. Hardik alleged that Reshma Patel and Varun Patel, two PAAS leaders who joined BJP, were bribed for Rs4 crore and Rs 6 crore each.

Of the 10 people he named, eight have already joined the BJP. The other two — Dilip Sabva and Dinesh Patel — apparently got Rs4 crore and Rs8 crore respectively, Hardik alleged. It should be noted that Sabva is with NCP. Sabva and Dinesh Patel both continue to be part of the PAAS reservation agitation.
