Senior Congress leader, Shaktisinh Gohil, also the in-charge of Congress affairs in Bihar on Tuesday said that he will send a legal notice to Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.

The Chief Minister had in Uttar Pradesh made indirect reference to Gohil saying that a Congress leader, who was in charge of the party affairs in Bihar, is talking about throwing Biharis out.

Gohil said if Rupani has even an iota of proof against him, he should take action or should apologise for his remark. "If he does not respond to the notice I will be filing a criminal as well as civil defamation suit against him," said Gohil.

He said the defamation suit can also be for a token amount but the important thing was to ensure that Rupani does not get away with lies.

He said that the attack on north Indians in Gujarat was BJP's conspiracy. "As for blaming the Congress, I would like to ask the CM what the intelligence bureau was doing. How come they had no inkling of the violence about to happen. It is because it is a conspiracy by the BJP," said Gohil.

To a question on several Congress workers being among those arrested for violence against migrants in the state, Gohil said it was because the investigation in the incidents were partial.

"I have given several proofs, including social media posts of BJP functionaries who have sought that immigrants be thrown out of the state. When the main accused in the case on getting bail from the court thanks a BJP leader for his release, it is clear where the accused belong too," said Gohil.

Meanwhile, the Congress also announced that it would participate in a Ravan Dahan programme in various talukas and districts of the state to oppose the 10 headed monster created by the BJP.

"We will be highlighting 10 major failures of the BJP and how it has made life difficult for the common man particularly the rise in fuel and fertiliser prices," said Amit Chavda, president, GPCC.
