AICC general secretary and Gujarat party in-charge Ashok Gehlot has expressed fear of EVM tampering in Gujarat polls, counting for which be conducted on Monday.

The leader, albeit, hoped that party would form government by registering a landslide victory. He was in Jaipur after holing over a month long campaigning in the neighboring state, Gujarat.

Interacting with mediapersons, Gehlot said, "Almost after 22 years Congress will form a government in Gujarat, provided the EVM's are not tampered."

Gehlot said it was his personal opinion. He demanded the the election commission of India (ECI) should introduce ballot system for voting which would erase doubts over the EVMs.

The exit polls in Gujarat have clearly indicated BJP retaining the state which it ruled for 22 years. The Congress, which campaigned aggressively across the state at the grass root level under the leadership of party president Rahul Gandhi, is sure of victory but expressed apprehensions over rigging of EVMs. Patidar leader Hardik Patel and a Congress leader also has expressed similar doubts recently.

Whether the party forms government or loses with a thin margin to BJP, would certainly impact Rajasthan where Assembly elections are slated in December.
