After her visit to Gandhi Ashram last for the first time in her life, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is yet again going to make her presence felt in the state. She be in Gujarat with Rahul on for two days April 18 and 19.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will visit the state for the second time beginning with a temple run. Priyanka will be visiting the Ambaji temple while Rahul will address rallies in Bardoli, Dahod and Siddhpur. It should be noted that both Bardoli and Dahod are constituencies going to polls on April 23 while Sidhpur is part of the Patan constituency.

Gujarat Congress vice-president Ashok Punjabi said the details are being finalised and the party has also sought that Priyanka address rallies in Dahod and Chhota Udepur. The party hopes that the presence of Priyanka will help influence voters in Dahod where the party won four of the seven Assembly seats while in Chhota Udepur it had won three of the seven assembly seats.

Rahul will also launch the party's campaign in Gujarat on April 15 by addressing rallies near Rajula in Amreli district. The district, dominated by Patels, is part of Saurashtra where Congress won a substantial number of seats in the Assembly elections of 2017.

Earlier, in the day Prime Minister Narendra Modi had addressed his first rally in the state since announcement of polls in Junagadh which is also part of the Saurashtra region. Given that it has lost votes among Patels in the region, it is now trying to woo the OBC (Other Backward Classes) communities.

On March 12, the Congress working committee had held its meeting in Ahmedabad, the first time in 58 years. It was in Adalaj near Gandhinagar that Priyanka Gandhi addressed her first public meeting.

A slew of top BJP leaders are also likely to descend on the state for campaigning. Rajnath Singh, Devendra Fadnavis, VK Singh, Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Smriti Irani, Sushma Swaraj, Yogi Adityanath and Nitin Gadkari of the BJP will be visiting the state for campaigning between April 12 and 19.
