Following the downpour in the wee hours of Saturday, a heavy flush of water started entering through the 15th-floor side walls of resident doctors room in the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Medical Research hospital.

As the incessant rain continues batter city, the water leakage situation eventually turned so worse that hospital staff had to use buckets to collect the rainwater.

A video posted on Twitter by a medical practitioner showed water leaking from walls with force and getting accumulated on the floor. Those present on the hospital immediately swung into action and used buckets to collect the water. Within no time the water leakage video went rival on social media.

Reacting to the viral video the hospital's superintendent Sandip Malhan issued a diktat directing staff and resident doctors to refrain using social media and posting any content that brings disrepute to hospital. Staff and doctors were also warned that any violation of the diktat would result in strict action against the violator.

Attributing the problem to the combination of wind and heavy rainfall, Hospital's CEO Ramya Bhatt said. "Because it is a 78 meter high building, we are suspecting that due to the winds combined with heavy rainfall, water must have accumulated somewhere and started entering through the walls of the fifteenth floor." The CEO further added that construction work is also going on the top floors and the water leakage on Saturday has not affected patient care in any way.
