According to police, Galot and his wife had come to Ahmedabad from Rajasthan for the bypass surgery and the cash was for that purpose

In an exemplary show of honesty, an autorickshaw driver returned Rs 3.90 lakh left behind by a passenger. The man was carrying the money for his wife's bypass surgery.
The incident took place on Monday morning when the passenger identified as one Dharmnarayan Galot (64) and his wife Premlata native of Rajasthan took an autorickshaw from Ranip Bus station to Sal hospital located in Vastrapur area. Galot left his bag of cash on the seat of the vehicle when he reached his destination.
Meanwhile, the autorickshaw driver Nanjibhai Nai (52), a resident of Ranip, saw the bag on the seat when he was about to take another passenger. He opened the bag to find clothes and money inside. He immediately took a U-turn and went to Sal hospital where he had dropped off Galot and his wife. After searching for a while, he went to Vastrapur police station to hand over the cash and found Galot and his wife there. He then returned their bag to them.
